Halo 2: DVDF vs Tartan TerrorDate: 24-August-2005 Game: Halo 2 Event Type: Clan Match Event Organiser: DVDF Terahertz Opposition: Tartan Terror
The DVDF Clan has won it's Halo 2 clan match vs the Tartan Terror. In a very close series of matches, DVDF emerged 2 - 1 victors.
DVDF Tartan Terror
Game 1
Gametype: 1 Flag CTF
Oh crap, Containment... Why did Tartan Terror have to pick this map...? Anyway, TT started out on offence for the first round. Thanks to some awesome defence, they only managed to move the flag about six feet. DVDF's first attempt at offence didn’t go much better however, only managing to get the thing through the teleport in the last ten seconds with no one contesting it so the round ended. The next two rounds were just as uneventful, both teams had the defence sorted out so nothing really happened. 0 - 0 draw... If only we had known, we could have just skipped the next few games and gone straight to game #6. Most Kills: HowMuch (11)
Final Score: 0-0 Draw Game 2
Gametype: 1 Flag CTF
Ah, CTF on Zanzibar, what could possibly go wrong here? DVDF play this all the time, so should know what we are doing... How wrong we were. First off, the lag was reallllly bad in this game. SpeedyGordon was lost to us after a couple of minutes so Captaineyecatch was quickly recruited. As for the game, it was the opposite of the first game, with both teams forgetting how to defend. XmanUK was pwning DVDF with his sniper rifle which made things a bit tricky. Tartan Terror seemed to get the flag back to base a bit easier the DVDF, but there wasn't much in it. Both teams scoring 2 flags each... Most Kills: XmanUK (18)
Final Score: 2-2 Draw Game 3
Gametype: Single Bomb
Headlong, another good map for DVDF. This game reminded me why Bungie removed sudden death from Assault games in matchmaking. 20 minutes and no score... Yawn. Well it wasn't as bad as that, but you get the picture. DVDF could and maybe should have won this game, arming the bomb on there first offence. But as usual we lacked team work and messed things up (calm down spatular, it's only a game). Apart from that brief glimmer of hope, neither team really got close to arming the bomb. Both teams were very organised on defence making it almost impossible to get anywhere near the bomb spot. Game finished a 0 - 0 draw. Most Kills: Captaineyecatch (22)
Final Score: 0-0 Draw Game 4
Gametype: Single Bomb
Well DVDF got a break here, with Tartan Terror loosing their highest ranked player TERMINATOR 5430 as he had to go to bed...!!!! This proved the turning point and DVDF were able to take the lead. The first few rounds were very close affairs, with both teams getting close. At one point Tartan Terror had the Red base cleared of defenders and was ready to arm the bomb, but due to some last minute grenades and lucky shots were prevented from arming the bomb. DVDF Terahertz was dominating with the sniper rifle, racking up 17 kills with it. Then came the last round. What Billy did, I will never know fully. But somehow he managed to walk into the base un-noticed and arm the bomb. It's not as if we even cleared it out first, Tartan Terror just ignored him... Guess those lag switches finally paid off... (Just joking guys)... DVDF one the first match of the series 1 - 0. Most Kills: DVDF Terahertz (23)
Final Score: 1-0 DVDF Wins Game 5
Gametype: Team Slayer
Well this was DVDF's chance to put the match to bed, but as usual we don't like to make things easy for ourselves. The first half was very close with neither team really getting the upper hand. At one point it was 51-50 to Tartan Terror, but soon after things went tits up for DVDF. Tartan Terror were using something called teamwork, something the DVDF clan have not really heard of before. Perhaps it was some kind of mod or glitch that Bungie will fix in there next update. But suffice to say, Tartan Terror walked away with the second half of the match, eventually winning 100-87. We never had a chance. XmanUK was on fire with 27 kills. We didn't get close... Most Kills: XmanUK (27)
Final Score: 100-87 Tartan Terror Wins Game 6
Gametype: Team Slayer
Ah, the last game and everything to play for. It was 1 game a piece; Tartan Terror had just thumped us in the previous slayer game, so things were not looking good. At the start we decided to eject one player from each team so as to cut down on the lag. This seemed to work as this was the least laggy game of the series. Things started out very close, with neither team getting the upper hand. Tartan Terror were still using that teamwork glitch they had found in the previous game, but DVDF had a solution, and his name was Captaineyecatch. Racking up 31 kills he beat down all before him... Strangely, at the half way point DVDF Terahertz was on 0 kills, but that soon changed, getting 22 kills in the second half of the game to finish 2nd behind Mr Eyecatch... In the end, DVDF managed to defeat the teamwork glitch and ran out 100-77 victors and claim victory in the clan match. Most Kills: Captaineyecatch (31)
Final Score: 100-77 DVDF Wins
DVDF 2 - 1 Tartan Terror
